The Orchard está à venda via Barsuk Records aqui.

Umas das minhas músicas favoritas do ano. The Drums com o vídeo para Down by the Water, realizado por Surround, Brian e Brad Palmer.

One of my favorite songs of the year. The Drums with the video for Down by the Water, directed by Surround, Brian and Brad Palmer. One shot of vintage glamour for ending the night.

If I believed in angels, and if the could actually sing, they’d sing in the voice of Charlotte Oleena of Montreal’s project Oleena Sea. The music sounds like a dash of inspiration, a familiar voice, memories that we thought we had lost and that appear suddenly to leave a sweet flavor in your mouth. Here you can listen to the self-titled EP, which can be found here, and the video for Island Cottage which combines childhood memories with scenes from Blow Up, Michelangelo Antonioni’s classic (1966).

I had already talked about Houses some time ago (here) when they began a collaboration with my favorite Teen Daze. The incredible Endless Spring, I presented then, now returns with an amazing video that sounds like 100 Summers on repeat. Endless Spring anticipates the debut album All Night on October 19 on Lefse Records.

I Walked é novo single do próximo álbum de Sufjan Steven, The Age of Adz.

I Walked is the new single from the forthcoming album of Sufjan Steven, The Age of Adz. The successor of Illinois (2005) makes extensive use of electronics (banjo and acoustic guitar give turn into drum machines and synthesizers) and an obsession for cosmic fantasies (space, heaven, aliens, love, etc.) that creates a pop extravaganza boosted by a strong orchestration and some danceable moments. The Age Of Adz arrives on October 12 via Asthmatic Kitty and can be pre-ordered here.

Get ready for a moment of pristine elevation. A band like those you heard from time to time and make you drop everything of your hands. I’m talking of the Brighton-based The Diogenes Club. I’m not sure how many they are, but I know that they make the kind of music I’d love to do if I ever learn to compose (I doubt it!). The band is preparing to release the Versailles EP on September 20 via Urban Torque, which you can stream here. The 3 tracks (Too soon, Taliesin and Versailles) are pure electro-pop emotion inspired  in the ’80s, with ridiculously seductive vocals laid on a mantle of floating keyboards, synths reminiscent of New Order and dominant bass that make me want to twirl with arms wide open and eyes closed under a shiny disco ball (that’s a ridiculous image!) … Feelgood pop to pull a silly smile out of your face, I guarantee.
